The Child From Peru

The child from Perú is feeble and shy

He hangs back behind with a tear in his eye

His father is busy his mum doesn’t care

He trudges along with grease in his hair

The child from Peru just wants to be loved

To be nurtured and cared for and free like a dove

His village is barren, empty and torn

The elders look down on him with distaste and scorn

The child from Peru doesn’t know what he’s done

To be hated, dismissed and ignored by everyone

His only companion is his little dog Clyde

Who is loyal and supportive and stays by his side

The child from Perú was walking one day

Off of the path into the woods he did stray,

He encountered a fairy sat on top of a plant

and the fairy to him a wish she did grant

The child from Perú thought long and hard

For what he would wish for and lay down his card

He wished for his world to fade and to die

So he could live with the fairies right up in the sky.
