The little boy from Syria was easy to please
Death blood and bodies he was used to seeing,
His country is war torn, unstable and poor
His life is just misery from the Western War
They say they are helping, they are fighting for peace,
But who’s peace are they making as they shoot missiles at police?
It’s all about Religion, corruption and greed
The little boy deserves an education, School and University
–
The little boy from Syria gets recruited to fight
Hoping to earn enough money so that he can set flight,
He needs to get out of here and search for a life
Otherwise he will die young, no kids and no wife
–
The little boy from Syria saves up some pennies
He begins his journey, tribulations are many,
His journey is dangerous, and full of traps,
If the milita spot him there is no going back.
–
The little boy from Syria finally board’s a boat,
All the way to Samos for days he does float
The boat it is tiny and cramped and confined
His fate in this world from here is defined.
–
The little boy from Syria arrives at the shore,
After many long days of starvation to endure
The people look different and they don’t speak the same
The little boy feels scared and regrets that he came
–
The little boy from Syria is spotted very soon
Weak and emaciated he is taken to a room
He is questioned about his life but he cannot explain
How terrible it was and why he ran away
–
The little boy from Syria is sent to the UK
The people are cold and busy all the day
No-one will look at him, no-one wants him to be there
He just wants an opportunity, for someone to care
–
The little boy from Syria tries to learn the lingo,
As from a little boy to little man he begins to grow
No matter what he does he is treated like a rat
Just because he is from Syria, and a refugee at that
–
The little man from Syria doesn’t understand why the country
With money and opportunity won’t just treat him humbly
How can a country with land and peace
Refuse to help refugees achieve their piece
–
The little man from Syria thinks that people don’t know
The reality of living in a war zone and so
They look at him with suspicion, like a thief and a leech
Because governments start wars but motives don’t teach
–
The little man from Syria thinks the countries should unite
To help out our fellow humans in the global fight
We are fighting intolerance, war and corruption
There are reasons for fleeing, running and migration…
