#21 – Ayurveda, Astrology and Shamanism with Carina Greweling

In this episode of the Quest for Wisdom podcast, I had the pleasure of chatting with Carina Greweling, the insightful host of the THRIVE podcast. This episode is a treasure trove of wisdom on topics like astrology, hormones, ayurveda, shamanism, alternative medicine, healthy lifestyle, and much more. Carina shared her journey and expertise as an Ayurvedic health and hormone coach with such enthusiasm that it was truly inspiring.

Carina explained how hormones regulate energy, mood, menstrual cycles, fertility, and behavior. She emphasized the importance of maintaining hormonal balance and advocated for a holistic approach to health that includes regular monitoring of hormonal levels.

Carina also shared her unique approach to integrating Ayurveda, an ancient Indian medical system, with modern Western science. This fusion of traditional and contemporary practices offers a comprehensive path to wellness, combining the best of both worlds to enhance overall health.

Insightful Quotes

  • “I couldn’t help but notice, and this seems to be the thing in life. That the things you crave and want are the opposite of what you should have, at least in my case. And it seems like the things you want to do are not the things you should be doing. It’s the opposite of the things you want to eat or the things you want to do.” – Conor Monaghan
  • “Our hormone system influences everything, like our behavior, how much energy we have, the feelings, the temperature. Everything is influenced by it. For women’s health, it regulates our menstrual cycle, our fertility, our libido. So, if our hormones are out of whack, we don’t feel so well in our every day life.” – Carina Greweling
  • “I think there’s a darker side to astrology that people get totally wrapped up in – trying to predict how your day is going to go instead of just living your day and making the best of it.” – Conor Monaghan
  • “I find astrology really fascinating. It’s a great way to understand ourselves better and others better too. It makes us realize that we’re all unique, and we can learn to look at things from another person’s perspective and really get to know them better. But also, we need to be careful when using it not to put people in boxes, not to put ourselves in boxes, because I think we all have all qualities in ourselves.” – Carina Greweling
  • “If you’re not willing to change, you’re not going to have lasting results.” – Carina Greweling
  • “We don’t want to treat the symptoms. We want to treat the root cause.” – Carina Greweling
  • “Too much food, too much information, too much social media, overdoing it, not getting enough rest. That really puts the nervous system out of sync.” – Carina Greweling
  • “When we want to change things, we need to become aware, like we need to be very clear about our why. Why are we doing this? What do we want to achieve?” – Carina Greweling
  • “Life is just a battle of willpower, wit and energy, just to try and make yourself do the things that you need to do, to fulfill your mission in life regardless of whether you want to do it or not.” – Conor Monaghan
